Our Former President

http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/gwbush911jointsessionspeech.htm

George W. Bush might be known as the infamous 43rd president of the United States by many. Yet when we listened to him on, an infamous day as well, 9/11, noone doubted his decisions. Why is that? For one, the US had just been attacked.
President Bush stated "Tonight we are a country awakened to danger and called to defend freedom" Everyone thought we were going to defend our freedom. But I say, what freedom was taken from us? We might have lost the "freedom to live safely" but then again the government decided to spy on. some of his words such as "They stand against us, because we stand in their way." sound full of swagger if we think about them today. Now that we know that people in the middle east are dying. But when the attacks on September 11th occured these words meant different things.
So goes the way and when our ex-president used them. Noone would like to live in a country with a president who thinks his country is all powerful. I know that I wouldn't. But we fell for his words because of anger. The president knew how to get to the people is he used the right words and in the right order. If he said "we're going to attack the Taliban because we can" no one would have probably agreed. But after US citizens died and many were outraged these type of words didn't matter and so we went onto war...

Juanito,

I think you kind of looked at this blog too much by the perspective of the speech and that is fine I mean it is your topic, but as fas as Im concerned what George W. Bush did was take advantage that people were so upset and that they had no clue what was going on, so he took our feeling and emotions for his own advantage. When he told us we are going to war all we could think was yeah!! We need to take justice and do something about this.
So with this, he delivered a speech knowing how we felt knowing what he had in mind and when he told us go shop spend money everything will be fine who would've also thought that our economy would've grown to be this bad. Its interesting what one speech can do.

good job,
edwin

Dear Edwin,
I am glad that Barack Obama is our new president and we no longer have to deal with Bush, but we do have to continue to work with and fix the mistakes that he left us with. In Bush's speech he did kind of take our emotions into advantage and make it seem as we should get revenge for it. I don't like the idea that we are at war when to me there is no right reason to be in and that many lives have been taken due to this action. Good Job!

Dear Edwin,
I think people didn’t doubt George W. Bush is because people were scared we were just ‘attacked’ and many loved ones died; so many people didn’t want to risk that again. I do agree with you that we basically didn’t know if we were actually protecting our freedom or tour ’attackers’ were. I do agree that our 43rd President did contradict himself a lot. We did spy, so of course we were going to get a response from them. In crises people don’t think with the best in mind just there own, that’s why I think people really didn’t see that in the middle east they are really poor, so in order for them to take an action like that meant we really invaded there privacy, and they were tired of it. I agree that the president used words to influence people and the right words.

Edwin,
Your blog was good but, you should check your grammar for further details.
However,i was wondering if your blog came from some type of resource. Or is it, mostly based on your opinion/believe. Throughout your blog it seems as if it was based mainly in some perspective you have towards the "ex president".
I could assure you that those who read your blog might get the feeling that you have something negative or maybe even hate towards the "ex president.
Howevr, thats just my opinion.
GOOD JOB THOUGH.!
